In 2015, Internet of Things (IoT) is going to really take off and by 2019 it is going to be a $1.7 trillion market (Reference 1). We want Pakistan to become a major player in this market. With this object we want to create a team of Elite developers/teachers who will develop solutions for this market and start teaching these technologies ASAP in Saylani/Sir Syed and other universities.
After doing extensive research I have concluded that at this stage there may be four major players/platforms in this market which have a good chance to dominate this huge market:
1. Qualcomm's AllJoyn Alliance (Reference 2, 2b, and 2c)
2. Apple HomeKit (References 3, 3b and 3c)
3. Google's Nest (References 4 and 4b)
4. Intel IoT Platform (References 5 and 5b)
To get selected in this elite program you will have to submit a small prototype of an Android, iPhone or Windows Application written in Java, Swift, or JavaScript using AllJoyn Sdk's and Firebase (Reference 6 & 7). The application should do something useful and update device data in realtime over the web using Firebase.
The submission date for this project is Saturday, January 24th at 5:30 pm in Panacloud's new mobile and IoT offices in Khadda Market in Phase V DHA. There is no fee to participate in this program only hard work is required.
All those interested please join: https://www.facebook.com/groups/iot.dev/
Once we have the elite team in place we will start teaching each other about IoT and start development solutions. Once we have a grip on the technology we will start teaching in Saylani/Sir Syed and other universities.
